I ordered the wide cinema edition for my IPhone and I must say it is fantastic. It’s was very well boxed and delivered on time. There was an issue with the case and one of the filter clips but they were replaced without question. The lens and filters are of high quality and I would not hesitate to recommend them.
After unboxing, the first good sign was the weight of this lens - Sturdy to say the least. Images and videos are beautiful paired with the ND filters. Only issue is with the fitment of one of the ND filters — it won’t go on all the way. Other than this minor issue, I’d gladly recommend this to anyone. Cheers!
I've tested a few, but when it comes to quality and result this wide lens is just awesome and a must have for iPhone film makers ... but ... although Sandmarc wide lens comes with a standard 17mm thread, the lens does not fit in rigs like the Ulanzi U-Rig Metal where the lens could be ******* on. That is because the lens boy shape is not conical enough. Maybe sandmarc is going to figure out how the can outperfom this product by providing a 17mm or 37mm thread ... everyone will still need your case when using a gimbal ;-)
The overall experience was good. However, I would like to point out some of the problem and improvement for your product, 1) it is difficult to install the lens to the phone case mount. 2) the lens that mounts on the phone make the phone to be heavy and imbalance (take photo in landscape would easily drop the phone) , therefore I would think you can improve on the casing that has a better grip, or perhaps you all can introduce an external attachment (e.g pictar camera grip or JustMobile shutter Grip) Hope this suggestion help to improve your product.
Using the wide angle lens makes my gimbal (Osmo Mobile 2) useless because of its weight so there goes one half of what I wanted to do, but not Sandmarc’s fault. The cleaning cloth provided was low quality and falling apart. There are white specks inside the wide angle lense on the metal parts, not obstructing the view but annoying to be permanently dirty when it costs so much. Also the PL filter when turning around sounds like dirt caught in ball bearings. Very annoying and cheap. Lense/filters perform perfectly. I just would have liked them to be cleaner and more cost appropriate.
